The Sierra Model used at Sierra Tucson focuses on “whole-person” therapy, and includes emotional, medical, spiritual, and psychological wellness. Specific treatment methods used include 12-step meetings, personal therapy with a licensed therapist or counselor, group therapy, equine therapy, adventure therapy, grief sessions, spirituality meetings, and disease education. Sierra Tucson offers a special family program for all members of a client’s family to join in the recovery process. The treatment center also uses psychodrama, somatic experiences, acupuncture, yoga, chiropractic care, and other therapies to treat addictions, abuse, and compulsions.
Alumni who successfully complete the Sierra Tucson program are eligible to receive ongoing support to help prevent the occurrence of relapse. Special workshops, meetings, follow-up contact, and online resources allow alumni to find additional support even after leaving the treatment center at Sierra Tucson.
Special Interest: In addition to treating drug and alcohol abuse & addiction, Sierra Tucson offers programs to treat co-existing disorders. Programs are available for the treatment of eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and a holistic pain management program. Other treatment programs include sex addiction, compulsive gambling, and other addictions and compulsions.
