Looking for Treatment in all the Wrong Places

posted in Misc |

Searching for an alcohol or drug treatment center via the Internet can be a tricky task. I am always skeptical about sites that give me the same phone number no matter what state I search on. I am also dubious of any site that wants personal information filled out via a form so that they can call or e-mail me. As a general rule the less information you give out about yourself over the Internet the better, you have no idea how that information will be used. You can find complete listings of drug treatment centers on a state by state basis at Addictions Resources. If you prefer a government site, the best facility locator on the Internet provides access to information on every treatment center that reports to a state agency.
